W H Malcolm 100 Years
W H Malcolm began with one horse and cart 100 years ago in 1922 when Walter Hattrick Malcolm set out to deliver coal around the Renfrewshire area. Walter passed away when his son Donald was nine years old, which meant he had to leave school at 13 years old and take over the business alongside his mother.
To celebrate this centenary the Malcolm Group have commissioned this special Scania R500, this is named after Billy Stirling when the Peter D Stirling family made the highest financial donation at the Charity Auction held to raise money for local charities The Beatson Cancer charity, Accord Hospice and St Vincent’s Hospice. The amount raised being £250,000.00 when the auction was held at the Donald Malcolm Memorial Ball last December.
Lorryspotting.com associate company Speedbird Promotions are working with The Malcolm Group to produce a scale model of the centenary truck, which going by the picture is bound to be a stunner.
