Terry Howell

Terry Howell is one of the largest independent builders' merchants in South Wales, providing a continual service to the fencing, timber and building industry for over 60 years.

Terry Howell was founded by Terry Howell in 1956. The company started manufacturing wooden ladders at a small family site in Rogerstone. After a few years, we began producing chocks; used in the coal mines throughout the South Wales Valleys. As the business grew, we began to diversify into sawmilling fencing materials, such as; featheredge, posts and rails.

​Almost sixty years after opening our first branch in Risca, there's nothing that we don't know about timber! As we've grown over the years, our sites have expanded into three retail stores, two sawmills and a docks site, where we prepare orders for the length of the UK. Our delivery is something we're proud of! In fact, we now operate ten vehicles, consisting of; Two Artics, a 26 Tonne Hiab, a 16 Tonne Hiab, a 16 Tonne Flatbed and Six 3.6 Tonne vehicles - including 5 Tippers!
